Ladies, you can do this!!
I was a reluctant to purchase a bike online with worries I wouldn't be able to safely put it together. I'm a big girl and intend to make good use of the bike to tow my large dog in his bike-trailer. Never put a bike together before, for the savings I have two words for you: BUY IT! I put this bike together on my own in a matter of minutes. I think it took me longer to push the box from one room to another and empty it out than it did to assemble the bike. The only things to put together is the front wheel, handle bars and peddles. If you have a screw driver, allen wrench and plyers, you've got it made, it's really a no-brainer. Oh yeah, the bike is really attractive too. Enjoy!

FANTASTIC BIKE
This bike is the best one I found in all of the bike's I researched.I've been looking for a bike for me and my wife for the last year and a half. Pacific and Amazon are a great couple,They are fantastic in shipping and assembly.Shipping was fast and assembly was quick and easy.

Above average bike
This bike came in just 5 days. It was double boxed. It had a few small scratches on it and the wheels were out of round. The de-railer needed to be adjusted as well as the brakes. I took it to my bike mechanic and for $ 12.00 he had me up and running. All in all it's a nice riding, good looking beach cruiser and well worth the money for an inexpensive ride.

Mongoose Maneuver Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Mongoose Maneuver Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Amazon.com Product Description
Hit the trail in confidence with the Mongoose Maneuver dual-suspension mountain bike. The Maneuver is equipped with a lightweight, responsive alloy dual- suspension frame that works to give you a smoother overall ride by absorbing harsh bumps. Riders will also dig the 21-speed Shimano shifters and SRAM drive train, which seamlessly switch gears on straightaways or hills. Other details include front and rear alloy linear pull brakes and levers for powerful and reliable braking and an alloy forged three-piece crank set.

About Mongoose
In 1974, BMX Products, Inc., later to be known as Mongoose Bicycles, launched from a humble garage. The first of its kind, the BMX bicycle was named after bicycle motocross and was designed to fit the needs of the rough-and-tumble dirt-racing pastime that took its toll on wheels and bicycles. The heavy-duty, one-piece cast-aluminum Mongoose Motomag wheel was soon born, and it was the first competition-ready BMX bicycle available. Skip Hess, while in Australia pursuing his motor sports passion, came into contact with a strange and unusual cat-size animal--the mongoose. Known for its passive nature while unprovoked, yet vicious and aggressive enough to kill a threatening Cobra twice its size, the Mongoose impressed Hess, who quickly registered the Mongoose trademark for his new bicycle racing frame.

The Expert BMX bicycle model, which is still a cornerstone of the Mongoose BMX line today, was introduced in 1980. Shortly after, Mongoose captured the first ever ABA National #1 Cruiser Title. Previously known for the 20-inch bicycle, this title signaled the re-direction of Mongoose bicycles to larger-wheeled, adult-sized models. Several years later, Mongoose continues to dominate the cruiser racing circuit with six National No. 1 Cruiser titles, leading to the introduction of adult-sized Mongoose all-terrain bicycles (ATBs).

In 1992, Mongoose pioneered the full-suspension market with the introduction of the Amplifier. This design is still the most-copied suspension design in the market. Several year later, Mongoose launched the Newman adult bicycle frame, which is proven to be 15% stronger than any other bike frame in the market. The design, while functionally sound, also raised eyebrows because of its distinctive look.

In the next few years, Mongoose increased its marketing focus to dominate the bicycle industry, and more important, extend beyond it. The Mongoose brand marketing initiative makes more than 100 million impressions. Mongoose’s brand awareness increased by over 130% in 1999 and solidifies the No. 2 market share position in units and dollars. Mongoose was acquired by Pacific Cycle, LLC, and continues to grow and prosper with more than 40 models of BMX, mountain, trail, freestyle, jumping, comfort, road, and cyclocross bikes.

Amazon.com Bicycle Buying Guide

Finding the Right Bike
To really enjoy cycling, it's important to find a bicycle that works for you. Here are some things to keep in mind when you're in the market for a new bike:

The Right Ride
In general, bikes are broken down into three major categories:

  • Road and Racing Bikes--As a general rule, road and racing are built for speed and longer distances on paved surfaces. Thinner tires, lightweight 29-inch (700c) wheels, and drop bars that allow for a more aerodynamic position are the norm. Most road bikes, regardless of price, offer many gears for tackling both hilly and flat terrain.
  • Mountain Bikes--With their larger tires, hill-friendly gearing, and upright position, mountain bikes are very popular for all types of riding, both on pavement and off. Mountain bikes that are designed specifically for rugged trail use typically feature a suspension fork. Some may have rear suspension, as well. A quick change of the tires on any mountain bike--even one that you use regularly on trails--adds to its versatility and makes it a worthy street machine.
  • Comfort/Cruiser Bikes--For tooling around on bike paths, light trails, or for cruising a quiet beach-side lane, comfort/cruiser bikes are the ticket. With a super-relaxed riding position, padded seats, and limited or no gearing, these bikes are made for enjoying the scenery and having fun with the family.

The Right Price
A bike's price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

  • Entry-level--You'll find a wide range of comfort and cruiser bikes in this category, as well as some lower-end mountain bikes and road bikes. Most will have steel frames and components that are designed to last for several years with frequent use.
  • Mid-range--Bikes in this range may feature a lighter aluminum frame with mid-range components that keep performing after miles of use. If you're looking for a quality bike that is relatively lightweight and will stand up to abuse, this is the "sweet spot." Most serious commuter and touring bikes fall into this category, as do mid-range mountain bikes with a decent front suspension.
  • High-end--Racers and serious enthusiasts who expect lightweight, high-performance components will want to stick to this category. For road bikes, exotic frame materials (carbon fiber, titanium) and ultralightweight components can add thousands to the price tag. Mountain bikes in this class often feature advanced front and rear suspension technology, as well as components designed to handle lots of rugged trail action.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

  • Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
  • Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half, and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
  • Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

The Right Accessories
When you make a bike purchase, don't forget these crucial add-ons:

  • Helmet (this is a must!)
  • Seat pack
  • Lock
  • Hydration pack, or water bottle and bottle cage
  • Spare tubes
  • Portable bike pump
  • Gloves

Feature

  • Mountain bike with alloy dual-suspension frame
  • 21-speed Shimano shifters and SRAM drive train
  • Responsive and smooth design absorbs harsh bumps
  • Sure-stopping front and rear alloy linear pull brakes
  • Alloy forged 3-piece crank set; comfortable saddle

Great Bike
I would give this 5 stars but assembling was a pain, the instructions were limited so you basically had to figure it out yourself, so now im taking it to a bike shop. Overall this is an awesome bike, my boyfriend absolutely LOVES it!!

Nice Bike for the money
I bought this bike based on the reviews and was not disappointed. I was a little surprized to see that the wheels did not have quick release on them but it's not that big of a deal. The bike arrived in pretty good shape and few nic and scratches but nothing terrible. The bike goes together rather quickly, attach the pedal, handlebars and front tire, I did have to adjust the brakes to get the tires on. Overall I am satified with the bike.

Bike was severely damaged in the mail
As a disclaimer, I was never able to ride the bike I bought from amazon b/c it came to me damaged. I'm still writing this review though since most people who read these amazon reviews will buy from amazon, and it's important to know how it is shipped.

The box comes double-boxed, so no one knows what you bought. The bad news is that there is no "This Side Up" label on the outer box, like there is on the inner box, so the bike could hae gotten damaged by being put in a variety of positions--The outer box was not damaged. The bike was not properly padded for shipping. There were occasional thin pieces of cardboard taped around the frame, but these didn't prevent damage. The front is cable-tied to the frame of the bike by the forks. Everywhere that there wasn't cardboard on the frame, there were major scrapes. Where there was cardboard, there were minor scrapes and the stickers were bubbling. Because the front wheel was near the front forks, some spokes were slightly bent. Finally, after all of that, the chain was stuck between the chain wheel and frame, and could not be freed.

The instructions were difficult to understand--they are for generic bike assembly, and not specific to the bike. Putting together a bike (It as my first time) with just skimming the instructions is easy to do. There are also plenty of how-to's online with you tube videos if you need it.

The good thing is that amazon took the bike back (very easy to do), and I got a full refund 2 days after they received it. Think very hard before you buy a bike online, and be prepared to get a dud and have to get an exchange/refund.

Item was returned.
Item is not suitable for more aggressive mountain trail biking. Did not feel safe using the bike.

Great all around all purpose bike
My old man got this bike for me on a deal [...]. Little bit cheaper than what I see here on Amazon but still a great deal.

I've had the bike for over a year and ride it 6 days a week on bike paths, and twice a week downhill mountain biking. I live in Aspen so there is lots of tough terrain paved, single track, and more.

This bike holds up! I will admit sometimes you have to adjust the gears when they start to slip... but most bikes you have to tweak after lots and lots of use.

I do recommend buying a comfortable seat though... the seat that comes with the bike SUCKS! Hard as a rock! Ouch! Hence the 4 stars.

Gears, shifters, breaks, frame, suspension, handle bars, rims, and tires (tires are awesome)... all great! "Take off the kickstand" though, really annoying! Heavy!

I'd recommend this bike to anyone looking to get into biking and not sure what type yet. This is a GREAT buy and I'm glad I got it. Great for college students, communters who like to get off road on the weekends, etc.

I will upgrade to full suspension rather than hard tail next year. I seemed to get into the mountain biking quite a bit after this purchase:-)

After a year of beating the crap out of this bike... it still holds up.

Bike
This bike looked great. Too bad it did not perform as good as it looked. I received the bike via UPS, & I immediately took it out of the box, looked at the directions, & proceeded to assemble it as instructed. After I got the bike put together, I took my black lab Dixie on a walk / ride. When I tried to shift into some of the higher gears it started grinding, & would not go into the gear that I wanted. At that point I shifted down to some lower gears & Dixie & myself made it back home. Later on I tried it again & this time the chain came off. I brought the bike back home, disassembled the bike, put it back into the box, & then returned it back to Amazon A.S.A.P. Other than that it is a great bike. Buy this bike at your own discression, but only if you have knowledge on fixing bikes. Thank You!!!

Never by this bike!
this product was broken from the moment I got it. The rear wheel was stuck and won't spin at all.

Huffy Blackwater 26" review
First, I did not know this bicycle was made in China at the time of purchase.

I just purchased a Huffy Blackwater 26" mens model and found quite a few problems.

1. This bike is made in China and the Allen head bolts are not machined correctly to accept

the 7/32 allen key to adjust your handle bars. This means you will instantly strip out the Allen socket

while assembling the bicycle, even before you get to ride it!

2. The rear wheel is not true, meaning I can see it wobbling before I took it for a ride.

3. The assembly instruction are generic for all Huffy models. There is no diagram showing how the bicycle should look after assembly. There is no diagram or instruction showing how the handle bars should be mounted or aligned.

4. The gear shift assembly does not work out of the box and it looks like I will be spending some time to adjust this

to get it working properly.

After all is said and done, I should have bought an American made product.

Just OK..
The bike is OK, i mean what do you expect for $120. There was some damage during shipping and it was very difficult to assemble because it did not come with any hexagonal (allen) wrenches, which are needed to attach the handlebars and adjust various other parts. Also, the front wheel spins a little off-kilter, but still rides ok. I only need it for short trips so I doesnt bother me too much. MAKE SURE YOU ADJUST THE BRAKES BEFORE RIDING because the factory does not place them in exactly the right place... If I could go back in time I would probably just save up for another month and buy a better bike from an actual bike shop.

Good Bike but needed alot of tweaking
I ordered this bike and another one like it (Pacific Tuscon Men's Dual-Suspension 26" bike) for my girlfriend and I. With my 2 day shipping plan they both came in excellent time. But the way they had them package kinda concerned me. Everything was tied in very close together. And they had the frame of the bike jammed into the spocks of the rim so take it out of the box very carefully (because i bent a spock). Now this bike didn't come in excellent condition. For one the front rim was slightly bent so I had to order another one (The other bike the rims were fine). The customer service was okay. But I was told that my new rim should be at my door in no more than 7 days. Well it took almost 14 days to get here. And i was told "just make sure you throw your old one away". yeah okay. Also the brakes needed to be tweaked (on both bikes),they worked but not well enough to go mountain biking with it,and also the gears needed tweaking (front and back on this bike)). And if you don't know what you are doing do not try to do it yourself especially the gears. I cannot give you a price on how much it would cost to have these things done but i used the internet to figure it out. Other than the minor repairs needed I am pleased with my purchase. The suspension is great (really can not feel those minor bumps). I've had the two for about 2 months now. Haven't had the chase to really break them in but seems to be sturdy enough.

bike
i really like the bike. only problem was that when it arrived the front wheel was bent... i had to have them send me a new one, which wasnt a big deal, but now i have to package back up the old one and send it back which is annoying.

Great Value
I have had this product for almost three months now. So far so great. It has almost everything you need in a home laptop. It is a bit big and heavy so is not appropriate to move around often but great to watch movies, browse the web, etc. I have not run computational intensive programs on it yet but with its powerful processor and 4G RAM it won't disappoint.

Few small issues:

All the USB and other connectors are located at front-sides or front and not at the rear of the computer. This makes the connecting wires looking awkward on the desk and I somtimes hit the USB interface of my mouse while moving it.

When the top/monitor is folded down when the computer is on, the mouse-pad gets hot and when opened it does not function properly for about a minute (until it cools down).

Toshiba Laptop
An excellent laptop. Works and looks great!

Pluses:

Design, Features, Price

Minuses:

Camera is not good.

It would have been so much better if the camera matched the overall laptop quality. The picture quality from the built-in camera is hardly clear and simply a disappointment.

Sad day for me
My lap top was great but the microphone was defective and there was noise like old radio satic all the time and got worse each time I tried to use it. So I have returned it and a refund is supposed to be forth coming so I can purchase another one. I hope it comes soon.

Stay AWAYYYYYY from this laptop
My family and I have been DIE hard sony consumers, buying all our tv's, stereos, vcr, dvd, etc. Even found a sony phone and bought that. My last vaio is over 5 yrs old and still runs. However this computer is the final statement in a long but ultimately bbbbbbbbbb (oh sorry, that is the B key coming loose and me re-securing it, happens about every 5 min) is the ending of a long but failed legacy. Sony has definitely lost their touch. I can't speak for all their products, but this computer and a wireless router I bought a few years ago are both AWFUL. This computer is not built to handle vista w/ 500MB of RAM. I upgraded to 2GB and it still can't really handle it all that well. But more importantly, my mother board crashed, the left speaker failed, my CD/DVD combo drive simply won't work anymore, the left mouse clicker is dead, keys come loose all the time, the backlight just turned off once, and now my battery just fails, half to 3/4 full and the computer just shuts off, doesn't save your session and standby when there's no battery life, just shuts down. I think most likely, this computer was rushed to be an affordable option that ran Vista, but the components are just AWFUL and this computer is just not built well in the midst of that haste. Seriously, stay away, this computer will frustrate you, erase data, crash, fail, and just break your heart, it looks so cool, but it is AWFUL!

Good Laptop, just good
Display is awesome, sharp and clear. It's fast, considering I upgraded my RAM from 1GB to 4GB. Got a couple of things though. 1st: When I type, my thumb always hits the touchpad, which messes things up. 2nd: No webcam, come on! 3rd and most important: Bad video card. I will sell this laptop and buy a new one.

Very hard to restore OS
I like the hardware part which were made very nicely, soft keyboard etc as other great Sony products. However, Sony customized software installation made recovery processing extremely difficult. Besides purchasing Recovery DVD from Sony (cost $25-$30), these model specified disks do not work well. There have been so many error message appeared during the installation for my son's laptop. I had to start over and over 4-5 times. I am not sure that it is Vista issue or Sony issue of software customization. After spending about total 20-30 hours, it is still not working at this point although SONY online customer helpers tried to solve the problems, but no progress made yet.
