Great Value
I have had this product for almost three months now. So far so great. It has almost everything you need in a home laptop. It is a bit big and heavy so is not appropriate to move around often but great to watch movies, browse the web, etc. I have not run computational intensive programs on it yet but with its powerful processor and 4G RAM it won't disappoint.

Few small issues:

All the USB and other connectors are located at front-sides or front and not at the rear of the computer. This makes the connecting wires looking awkward on the desk and I somtimes hit the USB interface of my mouse while moving it.

When the top/monitor is folded down when the computer is on, the mouse-pad gets hot and when opened it does not function properly for about a minute (until it cools down).

Toshiba Laptop
An excellent laptop. Works and looks great!

Pluses:

Design, Features, Price

Minuses:

Camera is not good.

It would have been so much better if the camera matched the overall laptop quality. The picture quality from the built-in camera is hardly clear and simply a disappointment.

Sad day for me
My lap top was great but the microphone was defective and there was noise like old radio satic all the time and got worse each time I tried to use it. So I have returned it and a refund is supposed to be forth coming so I can purchase another one. I hope it comes soon.

Stay AWAYYYYYY from this laptop
My family and I have been DIE hard sony consumers, buying all our tv's, stereos, vcr, dvd, etc. Even found a sony phone and bought that. My last vaio is over 5 yrs old and still runs. However this computer is the final statement in a long but ultimately bbbbbbbbbb (oh sorry, that is the B key coming loose and me re-securing it, happens about every 5 min) is the ending of a long but failed legacy. Sony has definitely lost their touch. I can't speak for all their products, but this computer and a wireless router I bought a few years ago are both AWFUL. This computer is not built to handle vista w/ 500MB of RAM. I upgraded to 2GB and it still can't really handle it all that well. But more importantly, my mother board crashed, the left speaker failed, my CD/DVD combo drive simply won't work anymore, the left mouse clicker is dead, keys come loose all the time, the backlight just turned off once, and now my battery just fails, half to 3/4 full and the computer just shuts off, doesn't save your session and standby when there's no battery life, just shuts down. I think most likely, this computer was rushed to be an affordable option that ran Vista, but the components are just AWFUL and this computer is just not built well in the midst of that haste. Seriously, stay away, this computer will frustrate you, erase data, crash, fail, and just break your heart, it looks so cool, but it is AWFUL!

Good Laptop, just good
Display is awesome, sharp and clear. It's fast, considering I upgraded my RAM from 1GB to 4GB. Got a couple of things though. 1st: When I type, my thumb always hits the touchpad, which messes things up. 2nd: No webcam, come on! 3rd and most important: Bad video card. I will sell this laptop and buy a new one.

Very hard to restore OS
I like the hardware part which were made very nicely, soft keyboard etc as other great Sony products. However, Sony customized software installation made recovery processing extremely difficult. Besides purchasing Recovery DVD from Sony (cost $25-$30), these model specified disks do not work well. There have been so many error message appeared during the installation for my son's laptop. I had to start over and over 4-5 times. I am not sure that it is Vista issue or Sony issue of software customization. After spending about total 20-30 hours, it is still not working at this point although SONY online customer helpers tried to solve the problems, but no progress made yet.

Best laptop
I've had this laptop for about a year now and I use it daily for work and I have never had any problems with it. I have owned HP computers for the last 8 years and have never had any problems with them.

Nice look, but problems
This laptop looks very nice and has some nice features. for example amount of memory and the entertainment features are really nice. My problems are:

- Power lasts up to 1-2 hours if left unplugged

- After 6 months of use, the laptop shuts off automatically and I have to take out the battery and re-insert it in order to be able to use the laptop

- Webcam does not work with msn messenger..I find this is horrid!!!!!!!!!!!...It works well taking out other pics though...

- It is tooo heavy

- Heats up a bit too fast..

Defective Product..Laptop Stopped Working in 1 Yr
HP Pavilion DV6707US 15.4-inch Entertainment Laptop (AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core TK-57 Processor, 2048 MB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium)

I purchased this 1 year ago to the day and have had problems since day 1. The laptop died and will not power on due to a motherboard issue. Warranty is void and this is a defective part and HP will not repair under the warranty. Stated we had to pay $400 to have it fixed. Save your money and buy a Dell instead. Better service, long life of product and all around better deal.

MY Toshiba
Hi I got this laptop last November 2008.It works well and its my second Toshiba. A very good product, however its not a year old as yet and my battery is completely dead and does not take charge. I have to use the laptop with the electrical power supply and for that I am displeased. The battery should not have gone so soon, even when it was working it only lasted for an hour and twenty minutes or so.So if you do buy this model bear that in mind.

Satellite L305D-S5904
My first Laptop and for sure the next will be TOSHIBA. This is not a machine for gamers but for student or work it fits 100% to your needs.

Excellent Value
This is a great package for the price. I purchased my Toshiba Satellite for $498 at Best Buy and I am very satisfied. The only negatives that I have experienced are as follows: 1. the surface of the computer shows finger prints which makes the machine look dirty. 2. the built in mouse pad is very annoying because it is easily touched when typing causing the curser to jump around. 3. most of the software is trial only.

Outside of those three problems, it is a very fast and good machine. I can live with the software issues and the mouse, but it would be good for Toshiba to offer a different surface.

Beware of Buying a Refurbished Computer from a 3rd party vendor
I bought a refurbished HP Pavilion TX2510US 12.1-inch Laptop from Elecsurf, a 3rd party vendor, through Amazon.com. Instead of the TX2510US that I ordered, Elecsurf sent me a mish-mash model of two different computers and then tried to make out that it was a TX2510US. In addition, they neglected to include the earphones and remote control. When confronted, they claimed these components were not included on refurbished models, despite the fact that they advertized them as being included. Upon discovering that this computer was not what I had ordered, I immediately contacted Elecsurf requesting a return authorization but Elecsurf would not respond to my repeated emails. Elecsurf's own 7-day return policy stated "Please contact us for a return authorization for any return. Return without RMA will be refused." I subsequently contacted Amazon and they told me to ship the computer back to Elecsurf. This cost me an additional $80.00. Although Elecsurf later agreed to reimburse me for this cost, in the long run, they never did. Amazon subsequently offered me a gift certificate to help compensate for this out-of-pocket expense. Space limitations here do not permit me to state all of the hassle I went through with Elecsurf. Based on this experience, I would NEVER again buy a refurbished computer from a 3rd party vendor. You have no guarantee what kind of product you're getting. They can send you any piece of junk they want to. Fortunately Amazon was really good to deal with. Were it not for Amazon, I would have been out of pocket over $1000 and stuck with a junk computer. Even so, what a hassle to go through! Buyer Beware !!!

DO NOT BUY ANY TX LINE PAVALION
The TX pavilion line laptops are LEMONS! After 7 - 15 months, you will experience the same problems that many people do - first you lose your wireless card (the computer stops recognizing it - not in device manager). Some time after this, the computer will start up, but the hard drive will not spool up. Maybe after 10 tries you can get it going, but eventually, it will not start up again. HP refuses to recognize this lemon, and if your out the one year warranty you are SOL. please, visit this website:

Repeatedly shocked at how amazingly crappy this is
It should have been obvious by looking at this thing what a POS it is. But it doesn't just look awful, nothing works properly, it runs Vista - the worst OS ever conceived...
